In a landmark development, the Adamawa State Government is poised to embark on a strategic collaboration with the Nigeria Polo Federation to harness the untapped potential within the realm of sporting activities.

The momentous announcement was made by His Excellency, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, during a cordial audience granted to distinguished members and executives of the Nigeria Polo Federation. The meeting transpired at the esteemed Government House in Yola, as a mark of mutual respect and courtesy.

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, in his capacity as the host to the delegation from the Nigeria Polo Federation, reiterated the state government’s steadfast commitment to fostering a symbiotic relationship with the federation. This alliance is aimed at bolstering the economic and political resilience of the state, thereby contributing to its overall development.

Furthermore, Governor Ahmadu Fintiri affirmed his pledge to allocate increased resources towards the security sector. This commitment is underpinned by the guarantee of a peaceful and secure environment, which is pivotal for the flourishing partnership.

In his address, Governor Fintiri addressed the pressing issue of security challenges in the state, attributing them, in part, to human factors. He underscored that collaboration with the Nigeria Polo Federation holds immense promise in attaining the desired objectives, given the distinguished pedigree of the federation’s members.

The Governor conveyed his heartfelt appreciation to the Nigeria Polo Federation for their visit, underscoring the state government’s unwavering dedication to nurturing and deepening the partnership for the mutual benefit of both parties.

Earlier in the proceedings, the National President of the Nigeria Polo Federation, Nura Kangiwa, expressed gratitude to the state Governor for his instrumental role in advancing the cause of polo tournaments in the state. Kangiwa also extended appreciation for the Governor’s appointment of a federation member as a commissioner, which demonstrates the administration’s commitment to the sport.

Kangiwa emphasized the critical role of robust support in facilitating tournaments such as polo, highlighting the dependency of both the Nigeria Polo Federation and the Yola Polo Club on the Governor’s support for their operational efficiency.

The International Polo Tournament, which commenced on September 18, 2023, is scheduled to conclude on Saturday, September 23, 2023. This tournament marks a significant event in the world of polo, further underlining the importance of the collaborative partnership between the Nigeria Polo Federation and the Adamawa State Government.
